Highway 11/17 and Seymour St. Interesection Improvements
The City of North Bay has retained J.L. Richards & Associates Ltd. to undertake a Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to the Highway 11/17 & Seymour Street Intersection (see map). In particular, the study identified intersection improvements to accommodate continuous growth and address the need for additional transportation capacity. A number of alternatives were examined as part of the study including increasing the left turn capacity of Highway 11/17 and Seymour Street.
This project has been planned under the Municipal Road Projects Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.The Project File has been completed and by this Notice is being placed in the public record for review. Subject to comments received as a result of this Notice and following receipt of necessary approvals, the City of North Bay intends to proceed with construction of this project within their infrastructure capital works plan. The estimate of probable construction cost for the preferred option is $5,000,000.

Please provide written comment to the City Consultant within 30 calendar days from the date of this Notice. If concerns regarding this project cannot be resolved in discussion with the City of North Bay, a person may request that the Minister of the Environment make an order for the project to comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act (referred to as a Part II Order), which addresses individual environmental assessments. Requests must be received by the Minister at the address below by May 12, 2014. A copy of the request must also be sent to the City Consultant. If no request is received by May 12, 2014 the project may proceed to construction as outlined in the Environmental Study Report.
