Information Systems is responsible for applications help desk; computer training; hardware/network support; Internet and homepage development and support; telephone voice mail support; e-mail support; Intranet services; desktop publishing/scanning/print shop; office automation support and training.

Mission Statement

The mission of Information Systems it to define, develop and implement corporate computer and communication standards and to ensure that technology within the corporation is current, consistent and appropriate.

Goals of Information Systems

  1. Ensure the integrity of the Corporate database and accessibility to hardware and software.
  2. Provide the users with the most appropriate and uniform hardware and software.
  3. Provide training and Help Desk support for hardware and software.
  4. Provide special Information Technology services for the Corporation by anticipating and exploiting technology change.
  5. Provide Internet, Intranet and Extranet services for the Corporation and other local agencies.

  • Backup and store data for retrieval using standard backup procedures.
  • Provide file and user-level security for data.
  • Provide 7 by 24 hour systems availability.

Provide the users with the most appropriate and uniform hardware and software.

  • Evaluate and Test hardware and software to keep the Corporation current with the market and industry standards.
  • Ensure the compatibility and integration of hardware and software within the Corporation and external agencies with existing and future corporate information technology.
  • Keep database consistency and compatibility of total system.
  • Maintain and develop Information Technology infrastructure to meet data loads and transmission requirements.
  • Perform new systems analysis in conjunction with users.

Provide training and Help Desk support for hardware and software.

  • Provide user training for all computer and communications hardware and software.
  • Provide first-line support for all computer and communications hardware and software. Liaise with hardware and software support staff when escalation of the support is necessary.
  • Create or customize programs to meet user-specific need or to facilitate the interoperability of programs throughout the corporation.
  • Provide special Information Technology services for the Corporation by anticipating and exploiting technology change.
  • Supply expertise for DeskTop Publishing, Forms and Graphics design and specialized printing.
  • Perform Electronic Data Interchange services for Corporation.
  • Produce CD ROMS for distribution and presentations.
  • Provide Audio / Video services for computer presentations.
  • Provide telephone system support.
  • Provide scanning, graphics conversion for internal and external users.
  • Provide Print Shop services for Corporation.

Provide Internet, Intranet and Extranet services for the Corporation and other local agencies.

  • Provide users with Email access through the Internet.
  • Provide access to database through iNet technology.
  • Maintain Homepage and all related information for Corporation and related agencies.
  • Provide Intranet tools and initiative to enhance workflow.
  • Provide Extranet capabilities for related agencies in the surrounding area.
