Goodridge Goulet Planning & Surveying Ltd. on behalf of the property owner has submitted an application to amend Zoning By-law 2015-30 to rezone the property to a “Residential Multiple Second Density Special (RM2 Sp.)” zone. The purpose of the application is to convert the former church to apartment units. The Special Zone request would recognize the existing interior side yard setback of 1.18 metres.

Please be advised that the City of North Bay has received an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. This application has been deemed to be a complete submission. This letter is to notify you of the proposed amendment, to invite your comments and questions and to make you aware that there will be public meeting before City Council pertaining to this proposed amendment.
The subject property is located at 1823 McKeown Avenue. It has frontage of 31.3 metres along O’Brien Street and a total lot area of 0.156 hectares. The property is currently zoned “Residential Second Density (R2)” and is developed with a building that was previously utilized as a church, as shown on Schedule “A” and Schedule “B” attached hereto.

A Public Meeting regarding this proposal will soon be held at City Council. Notice for this upcoming meeting will be given in the manner prescribed under the Planning Act. In advance of the meeting, the City of North Bay is asking interested members of the public to express their support or opposition to the proposed amendment to City Staff.
