Canada Revenue Agency News Release

The Transit Pass credit, announced as part of the May 2006 federal budget, will allow individuals to claim the cost of passes for commuting on buses, streetcars, subways, commuter trains and ferries. In addition to claiming his or her own cost of transit passes, an individual can make a claim on behalf of a spouse or common-law partner, and the individual's children under the age of 19, to the extent that they have not already been claimed by them.

New Flyer - Low Floor Buses

Low Florr Busses

These buses are fully accessible. A ramp folds out to provide wheelchair access. There are no stairs to negotiate upon entry or exit. North Bay Transit now has 14 of these units covering most routes. Two more will be arriving in the Fall of 2010.

All passengers requiring accessible buses should call 474-0419 shortly before their trip to make sure there is an accessible bus on their route when needed. Bus servicing needs do arise and sometimes result in a bus with steps servicing a regular route. 80% of the fleet will be comprised of low floor, accessible buses by end of 2010.
