Veronica Park Playground
The Parks Recreation and Leisure Services department has started work to relocate the playground structure within Veronica Park. The structure will be moved into its new location by June 30th, 2017.
O’Brien Street Asphalt Resurfacing
Due to unforeseen circumstances on Carmichael Drive, rehabilitation of O’Brien Street from Ramsey Street (north of Highway 11/17) to Milani Road will commence today, Thursday June 15th and is anticipated to be completed by Thursday June 22nd.
Trout Lake Road Overpass Bridge Rehabilitation Update
Rehabilitation of the Trout Lake Road Overpass project has been awarded to Miller Paving Limited which works are currently in progress. Due to the nature of the work, traffic will be reduced to two lanes on the overpass (one lane in each direction) for the duration of the project which is scheduled for completion November 2017. This transition will take place early next week and therefore delays and interruptions to traffic are to be expected.
LEAD UP TO CANADA 150 CELEBRATIONS
On June 17th , LEAD UP TO CANADA 150 activities will be held at the North Bay Waterfront between 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. The festivities will include performances from the SkyHawks Parachute team, Snowbirds, CF-18 after burner demonstration with musical performances from Hidden Roots Collective, Cory Marquardt and Lighthouse to close the evening. This is a free event for the community thanks to many generous individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Traffic switch over on Lakeshore Drive Overpass
Due to the completion of the Stage 1 works, traffic will now be redirected to the west side of the bridge to allow commencement for the Stage 2 works.
NORTH BAY DOWNTOWN CCTV
Over the next few weeks, work to install Phase I of the Downtown CCTV Video project will begin. Installations will take place at the Wyld Street and Main Street intersection and also at the Ferguson Street and Main Street intersection.

Rehabilitation of various roads in the City of North Bay will commence the week of June 5th and will be completed by the end of November 2017. Due to the nature of the work traffic will be impacted, however roads will remain open to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. In the event a road is closed, detours will be put in place to direct travelers around the site.

Nipissing Street Outfall Reconstruction Starts
Teranorth Construction will be mobilizing to the site at the end of Nipissing Street in preparation for the reconstruction works. The reconstruction will commence June 12th 2017 and is scheduled to be completed by July 31st 2017. The reconstruction includes replacement and extension of the storm sewer outfall and installation of a new headwall.

Trout Lake Road Overpass Bridge Rehabilitation

Traffic delays on Lakeshore Drive Overpass
Motorists will experience intermittent delays from Sunday, April 30th to Saturday, May 6th at the Lakeshore Drive overpass as a result of the concrete deck pour operation for Stage 1. Reduction to one lane of traffic is to be expected during these delays. The City of North Bay thanks residents for their continued understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed.

The City of North Bay’s organic waste drop-off depot will be opening for the season on April 10th (weather permitting). Residents are encouraged to bring their leaves and grass clippings to the depot for composting. Food waste and brush will not be accepted. Watershed Conditions Statement Flood Outlook - Lake Nipissing
The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority (CA) has issued a watershed condition statement indicating the current water level of Lake Nipissing is 195.70 which is five (5) cm below the lower limit of the summer operating level. With the forecasted warm temperatures and the high water content in the snowpack, the lake level will continue to rise in the next weeks as the snowpack melts
