How Far Are You From A Fire Station?

Those rural residents whose homes are within eight kilometres of a fire station and those rural businesses that are located within 5 kilometres of a fire station may receive a reduction in insurance premiums. If you drive directly from your home to the fire station closest to you, you can check the distance on your odometer. Check the fire station location on our web-site to find the fire station located closest to you, http://www.cityofnorthbay.ca/fire/halls.shtml

Another method of determining how far your property is from a fire station is to utilize a mapping site such as mapquest. Insert your address and the address of the closest fire station (from the list of addresses found on this web-site) to determine the distance which can then be inserted in the appropriate location in your insurance forms.

Residents are encouraged to contact their insurance agents for details regarding their specific policies.
