Snowmobiling

The North Bay Region is literally right smack in the middle of 3400 km (2000 miles) of groomed ecstasy. North Bay is the starting point for all your fun. Incredibly well marked trails lead to exciting and different opportunities. Our winter heaven has an abundance of accommodation and lodging choices.

In our "hub", snow is always plentiful and the winter scenery is breathtaking. Family fun is ensured with wide, safe trails and service in every direction and in between.

Call toll-free 1-800-387-0516 (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, 7 days a week) or visit Ontario's Near North web site for more information about snowmobiling in the area.

Snowmobiling In The North Bay Region

Snowmobiling is the rage in Ontario's Near North. Active snowmobile clubs from Huntsville to Temagami, from Mattawa/Bonfield to West Nipissing are expanding trails, purchasing new grooming equipment, and linking up with other trails to provide a system which spans the entire province from north to south and east to west.

The trails are unsurpassed for beauty, hospitality, and safety. There are numerous rest stops providing everything from meals to lodging and fuel. All Near North snowmobile clubs are members of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.

Snowmobile Tours

For those who wish to have that unique vacation, there are outfitters who can provide the all-inclusive snowmobile vacation in Ontario's Near North Winter Wonderland. Complete guided snowmobile safaris offer the most complete worry free winter vacation possible. Whether you choose to spend 2, 3, or 7 days, the unhurried pace allows ample opportunity for photos along the trail. Never ridden before? Don't worry, these outfitters can provide orientation and safety training geared to your experience level. All snowmachines are current models. Your vacation can be tailored to include snowmachine, safety/operational training, snowmobile suit, helmet, boots & mitts, trail permit, fuel, liability insurance, all accommodation, meals & gratuities, transportation of luggage during the tour, professional guides and an optional day of ice-fishing. A quality vacation.

Trail Permits

An OFSC (Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs) snowmobile trail permit is required to be displayed on the windshield of your snowmachine in order to ride on the trails. For information on pricing and availability of the permits, visit Ontario's Near North web site or call 1-800-387-0516.
