Location for second off-leash dog park
Council approved the recommendation to proceed with public consultation on the potential locations for a second off-leash dog park within North Bay. Staff have been actively working with the North Bay and District Humane Society to identify two possible locations for the second park. These potential locations have been identified as Laurentian Playground and Sage Road. Dates for public consultation are to be announced.
Proposed communication tower
Council directed staff to issue a letter of concurrence to Forbes Bros. Ltd. on behalf of Rogers Communications Inc. for the construction of a proposed telecommunications tower at 6 Lakeshore Dr. for the delivery of various wireless telecommunications to the area.
Demolition of former Moe-Ze-On Inn
Council awarded the contract for abatement and demolition for the former Moe-Ze-On Inn to Colin’s Haulage for $87,300.00 plus HST. Council also authorized a contingency allowance of $20,000.00 plus HST for unknowns related to demolition. The structure has been deemed an unsafe hazard and in order to facilitate the sale of the land it has been recommended that the structure and associated systems be demolished and removed.
