City Council Highlights provides a brief overview of newsworthy items from the City of North Bay Council meeting on November 14, 2016.  The full agenda can be found on the City’s website.

2017 Meeting Schedule Approved

Council adopted the proposed meeting schedule for 2017.  The schedule follows the regular bi-weekly Monday meetings with the exception of the expanded summer schedule.  Because Council meetings must be approved by resolution, this ensures that meetings of Council will proceed into 2017 should the proposed changes to the Procedural By-laws not be approved by the new year.

Court Security Costs

Council approved a recommendation to enter into an agreement with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services to receive funding for the City’s Court Security Prisoner Transportation Program. As in previous years, the City is to receive $485,455.97 which will be allocated to the Police Services Board budget to offset ongoing court security costs.
