Goods Exchange Day Saturday Sept 23, 2017
SATURDAY, September 23rd IS GOODS EXCHANGE DAY IN NORTH BAY
Goods Exchange Day is a way for all residents of the City of North Bay to actively participate in waste RE-USE, the second R in the 3R’s strategy; Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.
On Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 residents are encouraged to place USABLE unwanted goods at the curb or at the end of their driveways so that other people may take and use them. Re-usable items might include furniture, clothing, books, tools, sporting goods, toys, doors, windows, sinks etc.
Goods Exchange Day is a lot of fun (it’s a city-wide FREE yard sale) and it helps protect the environment in two ways; it cuts down on garbage that would otherwise end up in the City’s landfill, and re-using items saves the energy and the environmental impact of producing new items (such as the pollution created when goods are manufactured).
Residents are asked to place items out after 8:00 am and remove any leftovers by 6:00 pm on Saturday September 23rd, 2017. There will be NO City pick-up of leftover items.
People collecting Goods Exchange Day items are asked to please drive safely and watch for children.
