NORTH BAY DOWNTOWN CCTV Phase III

In March 2013 City of North Bay council approved a budget for expanding the cities CCTV (Closed Circuit  Television Cameras) program to the downtown core to “heighten public confidence” in the area. The City of North Bay in conjunction with the Downtown Improvement Area has been studying the need for security CCTV in the downtown area since that time

Over the next few weeks, work to complete Phase III of the Downtown CCTV Video project will begin. Installations will take place at the walkway leading from the Capitol Centre parking lot to Main Street, the walkway leading from the parking garage to Main Street and the parking garage itself.

The installation at the walkway from the Capitol Centre to Main Street will consist of 1 camera.

The installation at the walkway from the Parking Garage to Main Street will consist of 1 camera.

The installation at the parking garage will consist of 2 cameras mounted on the light poles at the top of the garage. 4 cameras will be installed at the entrances and exits to the facility.

Camera placement is for security only.  Cameras will not be monitored and only accessed if requests meet the City of North Bay Video Policy.

The target completion date is October 15, 2017.

The completion of Phase III will conclude the scope of work originally intended for the North Bay Downtown CCTV project.
