Veterans Baseball Field Rehabilitation Now Underway
The Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department (PRLS) wishes to inform the public that work is underway this week on Veterans Baseball Field as part of the City’s 2018 Veterans Sports Complex Design and Reconstruction Project.
The PRLS Department has been working in cooperation with North Bay Minor Baseball and Men’s Senior Baseball leagues over the past year to redevelop Veterans Baseball Field with the end goal being to improve and enhance the overall playability of the field for all baseball users.
As of Monday June 18th, 2018 Veterans Baseball Field will be closed for the remainder of the 2018 season as field upgrades are completed to: the drainage & irrigation systems, the outfield, the infield (Synthetic Turf infield to be installed), the pitcher’s mound & home plate areas, and the fencing and warning track areas. Plans also include the replacement of existing bleachers and player’s benches at Veterans Baseball Field and at the adjacent soccer fields.
Work on Veterans Baseball Field will continue throughout the summer months with an anticipated finish date of September 2018.
