Pinewood Park Drive Sanitary Sewer And Watermain Extension

Notice of Construction

Pinewood Park Drive Sanitary Sewer And Watermain Extension

Pinewood Park Construction AreaCanor Construction has been awarded the contract to extend the sanitary sewer and watermain on Pinewood Park Drive from Decaire Rd. to 280 m southerly. The project also includes the reconstruction of the roadway and the addition of a left turn lane into the Casino development.  The contractor will mobilize to the site next week to begin construction and we anticipate project completion by November of this year.

The contractor will try to limit the extent of noise and other construction inconveniences during this project, but in order to complete construction in a timely manner, night work and weekend work may be approved.  The contractor will assist in garbage collection and temporary parking to residents and businesses when necessary.

There will be delays and changes in traffic movement. Pinewood Park Drive at Cooks Creek will be temporarily detoured around the construction area and reduced to one lane of traffic by way of temporary traffic signals for approximately 1 month. Traffic will then be re-directed onto Pinewood Park Drive while still maintaining one lane of traffic for the remainder of the project.  It is important to note that a load restriction posting will be implemented given the age and condition of the former railway bridge being used for the detour.

Due to works required in the intersection at Decaire Road, Pinewood Park Drive will however be temporarily closed off to through traffic for a duration of 3 to 4 days at the very beginning of the project. Traffic will be detoured via HWY 11.

Drive with care in the construction area. There will be a city inspector available on site for the duration of the contract to liaise with the public. The contractor may need to access your property at times to perform their work.

Municipal police, fire and emergency medical services are aware of the scope and duration of construction. The City and the contractor are committed to public safety and will monitor ongoing progress of construction to ensure that emergency responders are not hampered.
