Please be advised that the City of North Bay has received an application for a Zoning By-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. This application has been deemed to be a complete submission. This letter is to notify you of the proposed amendment, to invite your comments and questions and to advise you that there will be public meeting before City Council pertaining to the proposed amendment.

A Public Meeting regarding this proposal will be held at City Council. Notice for this upcoming meeting will be given in the manner prescribed under the Planning Act. In advance of the meeting, the City of North Bay is asking interested members of the public to provide their comments related to the proposed amendment.

The subject property is an unaddressed, vacant lot on Pinewood Park Drive. It has frontage of +/-375 metres along Pinewood Park Drive. The property is currently designated “General Industry” under the City of North Bay Official Plan, zoned “Restricted Industrial Special No. 1 (M4 Sp.1)” and “Restricted Industrial Special No. 40 (M4 Sp.40)” under Zoning By-law 2015-30. The property is currently vacant.

Jesse Shortt has submitted an application to amend Zoning By-law 2015-30 on behalf of the property owner, Pinewood Park Drive Inc., to rezone the property to an “Industrial Commercial Special (MC Sp.)” zone. The purpose of the application is to allow for different permitted uses on the subject property. The Special Zone requests would allow for a “Casino and Gaming Facility” and a “Recreational Facility, Public Authority” as permitted uses on the subject property.

Comments received will be summarized in a report that will be submitted to City Council for their consideration.  If you so choose, you may also provide comments in person at the Public Meeting at City Council.
