Public Transit

In the interest of public health, North Bay Transit suspended fare collection on March 20.  Since that time, a number of health and safety protocols were implemented to allow for the re-introduction of fare collection as of June 15, 2020.

Buses are now equipped with a barrier separating operators and passengers and face coverings are now required on buses in accordance with the directives of the North Bay Parry Sound Public Health Unit. Further information on face coverings can be found the following link: https://www.myhealthunit.ca/en/health-topics/coronavirus.asp.

Although face coverings are now mandatory, a passenger limit of 25 will be maintained on all buses. This measure, which is effective as of Aug. 1, 2020, is being implemented following consultation with our partners at public health in order to maintain a safe environment and to continue to allow space to physically distance.

Schedule

North Bay Transit will continues to operate on a reduced Saturday schedule from Monday to Saturday in response to customer demand.

North Bay Transit remains operational, providing essential transportation throughout the City of North Bay.

We are asking all staff and customers respect the two-metre (approximately six feet) social distance between all other people at bus stops, inside buses, and at the transit terminal.  We ask that anybody who is ill or showing symptoms of COVID-19 not board the bus and for those who have recently traveled to follow the Government of Canada's recommendations for self-isolation.  We also encourage anybody that uses the buses to practice good hygiene, and to follow handwashing recommendations and all other recommendations of the Nipissing Parry Sound District Health Unit, which can be found at the following link: https://www.myhealthunit.ca/en/health-topics/coronavirus.asp.

We encourage any questions or concerns to be forwarded to transit@cityofnorthbay.ca or to our information line at 705-474-0419.
