Celebrating Canada’s 150th
North Bay recently paid tribute to our community’s military history on Armed Forces Day. The event held on June 16th, welcomed thousands to Canadore College’s Aviation Campus and was followed by the City’s kick-off to Canada 150 celebrations on June 17th with an air demonstration and concert at the North Bay waterfront. A video being released today, produced by Patrick Gilbert Productions, documents the recent Armed Forces Day celebration and the City’s kick off to Canada 150 festivities which will continue into this long weekend.
“It is a pleasure and honor to serve as Honorary Colonel of 22 Wing North Bay and the recent community Armed Forces Day festivities captured in this video, remind us all of the contributions made by those that serve in the Canadian forces.” said George Burton, President of Canadore College and spokesperson for the Invest North Bay Development Corporation.
Mayor Al McDonald encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the Canada Day celebration at North Bay’s beautiful downtown waterfront. “There are many exciting events planned to help celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday. We are pleased that our community, like so many others across the country, will come together to enjoy a fun filled day and reflect on our nation’s history.”
