Water & Wastewater Facilities Industrial Millwright

Applications are invited for the position of Water & Wastewater Facilities Industrial Millwright within the City of North Bay’s Infrastructure and Operations Division.  Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Water & Wastewater Facilities, the Industrial Millwright performs mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to Water and Wastewater facilities and equipment. Responsible for the efficient use and control of materials, parts and equipment while adhering to City Safety Policies and Procedures as well as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. Completes necessary reports.

Qualifications:  

  • Certification as Industrial Millwright in Ontario
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions related to work activities.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations applying to the work activity
  • Sufficient clerical ability to complete necessary reports
  • Must have in-depth knowledge & experience in mechanical & electrical equipment repair and installation with minimum three (3) years’ experience in mechanical and electrical repairs operations
  • Knowledge of operating standards, practices & procedures for water/wastewater treatment plants an asset
  • Ability to provide and apply practical problem solving skills
  • Must hold or obtain MOE OIT within 3 months of hire and is required to achieve Water and Wastewater Treatment and Distribution Level I certification
  • Computer skills/knowledge for process control and data entry; record keeping skills
  • Ability to perform manual labour
  • Must be Available for On-Call Rotation and Emergency Work
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license.

Hours of Work:   7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Monday to Friday

Environment:  Unionized

Hourly Rate:   $32.22 per hour, overtime opportunities available

Duration:  Permanent Full-Time
