    The City of North Bay has received an application to vary Sign By-law 2006-143, to vary the definition of a decorative banner by permitting a private company to erect these banners and to advertise commercial messages, and further, to vary Section 8.4.11, items (b), (d), (e), (f) and (h) to have every light standard at Northgate Shopping Centre displaying these signs with third party advertising.

    A Minor Variance Application has been submitted by Miller & Urso Surveying Inc. on behalf of Emily Kirby and Dominic Krzeczundwicz, 360 Ross Drive, seeking relief from Zoning By-law 28-80, Section 3.16.5 and Zoning By-law 2015-30, Section 3.15.1 “Permitted Encroachments”, to increase the maximum permitted encroachment for uncovered decks in the required front yard setback in order to permit the construction of an 1180sq.ft (109.6sq.m) deck on a newly constructed dwelling. The proposed deck will be located 10.26m from the front property line (lake). The applicants had previously obtained a variance to reduce the front yard setback for the dwelling from 30m to 14.12m however the deck was never contemplated in the application.
