Multi-Use Pathways

What is a multi-use pathway?

Multi-use pathways are pathways that are separate from the roadway that accommodate multiple modes of transportations including walking, rolling, and cycling.

How do multi-use pathways work?

  • bicycles moving at less than 20km/h ride on the right side of the pathway
  • bicycles moving faster than 20 km/h use the road
  • pedestrians may use the pathway
  • sidewalks are for pedestrians and children on bicycles

Where are multi-use pathways located

  • The Kate Pace Way runs from Memorial Drive to Cranberry Road in Callander
  • The Kinsmen Trail follows Chippewa Creek and runs from Airport Road to Stanley Street
